Use devices you already own
Call Pet turns a compatible home device into a pet camera. Leave it as the Monitor and use another device as the Controller. iPhone and iPad require iOS/iPadOS 15.0 or later. The full Android app supports Controller and Monitor on Android 7.0 or later, including two Android phones or mixed Apple/Android pairs. The earlier camera-only app supports only the Monitor role.
Pairing and everyday use
The Monitor shows a QR code; the Controller scans it. Pairing needs no Call Pet account, email or phone number. Keep the Monitor powered, ventilated and on the app’s foreground standby screen. Its dark, low-brightness display is not background or lock-screen monitoring.
Local recording
Apple 1.7.0 introduced optional Monitor-side 24/7 recording and playback, saved on that device. Controller-side manual recording is a separate local mode. Call Pet does not store video recordings in its cloud. Check the installed build, device, free space and plan; this Apple release note does not establish Android recording parity or uninterrupted operation.
Privacy and connections
WebRTC encrypts media using DTLS/SRTP. Direct connections are preferred; restricted networks may use TURN to relay encrypted media without holding the decryption keys. Relaying a live stream is separate from storing a recording. Connections still depend on both networks. Limited network metadata and optional advertising or purchase services are described in the Privacy Policy.
Free and Pro
Basic monitoring is free. Two-way video lets the pet-facing screen show you and requires Controller-side Pro eligibility, as do pet interaction and other premium features. Recording options depend on the build, device and plan. Call Pet does not replace treat dispensers, automatic bark alerts, medical monitoring or professional security systems.
Evidence and limits
Apple store metadata and the Google Play identity were checked on 2026-11-02. The architecture review dates to 2026-08-20; Apple 1.7.0 local-recording evidence dates to 2026-09-23. Updating store metadata is not a new device test. Call Pet is distinct from Calipet and CalPets.
