Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to the Call Pet mobile app (including the monitor device and controller device) and the public Call Pet website. Please read it carefully. If you have any questions or wish to exercise your rights, contact us using the details below.
1. Data Controller and Contact
Data Controller: Chen Zhiguo (indie developer).
Email: support@callpet.me; developer contact: apple.abec@gmail.com.
Address: Shell Haiyan Apartment, Huamao City Phase II, Shui'an South Street, Chaoyang District, Beijing, China.
2. Our Principles
- Data minimization: no accounts and no collection unrelated to the service.
- Encrypted transport: signaling and media use industry-standard encryption in transit.
- User control: pairing is user-initiated and confirmed, and local recordings are fully controlled by you.
3. Information We Process and Purposes
- Audio and video content is transmitted through encrypted WebRTC between paired devices. A direct device path is preferred when available; restricted networks may use TURN relay services to forward encrypted media packets. Call Pet does not provide cloud video recording or storage.
- Local recordings (optional) are stored on your device and saved to the system photo library with your permission.
- Pairing and signaling data (session identifiers, public keys, signaling and ICE addresses) is used only to establish connections.
- Network metadata (IP address, ports, timestamps, connection status, traffic size) may be visible to signaling, STUN, TURN, hosting, and security infrastructure for connectivity and abuse prevention.
- Local settings and state are stored on-device and are not uploaded.
- Diagnostic logs are generated locally. We collect them only if you choose to send them to us.
- Website analytics consent is stored in your browser as accepted or declined. Before you accept analytics, Call Pet pages should not load GA4, Baidu Analytics, or non-essential behavior tracking.
- Partnership applications submitted on the website are sent to our Feishu workspace so we can review the request and follow up. We do not use the partnership form to track page views or browsing sessions.
- Purchase and entitlement data may include the email address you provide at checkout, purchase status, plan type, renewal or expiration status, transaction references, and technical identifiers needed to grant, restore, or manage Call Pet Pro. Payment providers process full payment details; Call Pet does not receive or store your full card number.
4. Third-Party SDKs and Services
- Google AdMob (where enabled in the app): We use Google AdMob to display rewarded video ads. When you choose to watch an ad as part of an in-app task, AdMob may collect device identifiers, IP address, and ad interaction data. For details, see Google's Privacy Policy. Ad viewing is voluntary and may be used to earn or extend membership benefits. The app may request App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission on iOS 14.5+; if you decline, ads will still be shown but may be less relevant to you.
- RevenueCat (where enabled in the app): We use RevenueCat to manage and synchronize Call Pet Pro purchase and entitlement status across supported Apple App Store and Paddle purchase flows. It may process app-user identifiers, device or installation identifiers, product and purchase history, and entitlement status. For details, see RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
- Paddle (Android direct-distribution purchases): Paddle acts as the Merchant of Record and provides checkout, payment processing, tax calculation, receipts, subscription management, and refunds for supported Android direct-distribution purchases. Paddle may collect contact, billing, device, network, and payment information as needed to complete and protect a transaction. Call Pet receives purchase and entitlement status needed to provide Pro access, but not your full card details. For details, see Paddle's Privacy Policy.
- STUN/ICE/TURN services: third-party STUN, ICE, or TURN services may be used for NAT traversal and relay of encrypted media packets when direct connectivity is blocked. TURN services do not hold media decryption keys.
- Signaling server: the signaling server only forwards encrypted messages and does not hold decryption keys.
- Website analytics: after you accept analytics, the website may use GA4 and Baidu Analytics for aggregated page and download measurement. The website does not grant advertising storage. You can reopen privacy settings from the site footer.
- Feishu: partnership applications are stored in Feishu for review and follow-up only. Page views, referrers, session IDs, and user-agent tracking have been removed from the Feishu integration.
- Cloudflare: the website may be served through Cloudflare infrastructure, which can process standard server access and security logs.
5. How We Use the Information
- Provide calling, auto-answer, push-to-talk, camera switching, flashlight, and adaptive bitrate.
- Provide optional local recording and saving to Photos.
- Process subscriptions and manage your Pro membership status.
- Display rewarded video ads for task-based membership benefits when you choose to watch.
- Maintain reliability, security, and abuse prevention.
6. Data Storage and Retention
On-device data (pairing, settings, recordings) stays on your device and can be deleted at any time.
Call Pet does not provide cloud media recording or storage. Signaling and TURN infrastructure may process encrypted setup messages, encrypted media packets, network metadata, and operational logs for connectivity, reliability, security, and abuse prevention. A fixed log-retention period should be stated only after current server configuration is verified.
Data processed by third-party services (Google AdMob, RevenueCat, and Paddle) is retained according to their respective privacy policies linked in Section 4.
7. Sharing
- We do not sell personal information.
- We share necessary data with Google AdMob, RevenueCat, and Paddle to provide advertising, checkout, payment, subscription, entitlement, and refund services as described in Section 4.
- STUN, TURN, signaling, hosting, and security providers may process network metadata for connectivity and reliability; media remains encrypted in transit and Call Pet does not provide cloud recording or storage.
- Website analytics providers process analytics data only after you accept analytics consent.
- We may disclose information if required by law or to protect users and the public.
8. Your Rights
You can access, delete, or reset data by managing it on your device. If you believe we hold identifiable data, contact us.
Where required by law, you may request restriction, objection, or data portability.
You can withdraw permissions in system settings, which will limit related features.
9. Permission Use
- Camera: capture video, generate QR codes, and scan QR codes.
- Microphone: capture audio and push-to-talk.
- Local network or network access: signaling and WebRTC connectivity.
- Storage or Photos: save recordings to the system photo library.
- Wake lock or foreground service (Android): keep the monitor device active.
10. Security
Audio and video use encrypted WebRTC transport. Call Pet prefers a direct device path when available; restricted networks may use TURN relay services to forward encrypted media packets. TURN relays do not hold media decryption keys. STUN may be used for NAT address discovery, while signaling servers forward encrypted setup and control messages only.
If a device is rooted or compromised, or pairing codes are leaked, others may gain access. Please keep devices and pairing codes secure.
11. Children's Privacy
The app is not directed to children under 13. If you are under 13 or a minor under local law, use the app only with parental consent and guidance.
12. International Users and Legal Bases
If you are outside Mainland China, using the app or website may involve cross-border data processing (for example, communicating with signaling, STUN, TURN, hosting, analytics, or subscription services).
For EEA, UK, or Switzerland users, our legal bases include: contract performance for core service features; legitimate interests for necessary metadata and security; and consent for permission-gated features and advertising. You may withdraw consent for advertising by choosing not to watch ads, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
California residents: we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
13. Policy Updates
We may update this policy for new features, legal changes, or operations. Material changes will be notified in the app where required.
